Our Founding Beliefs
Rooted In Our Values
Purpose
Every place has the possibility to be something greater than itself. We bring that to life by thoughtfully managing estates and transforming places into immersive branded rentals.
QUALITY
It’s all in the finer details. From intentional design choices to seamless operations, we consider every aspect of a property to make a Root & Ramble place stand out and thrive.
PLACEMAKING
Design is more than aesthetics — it’s about a feeling. We optimize rentals to create meaningful, memorable experiences that make guests feel right at home and excited to come back.
UNREASONABLE HOSPITALITY
Exceeding expectations is what we do best. We go beyond the standard to ensure guests, homeowners, and partners leave a Root & Ramble place in awe.
2018
Marc proposes to Casey in Central Park’s The Ramble — little did they know, this special spot would be the namesake for their future hospitality brand!
2019
When Marc and Casey were searching for a wedding venue and couldn’t find the right place, they decided to take matters into their own hands. They purchase a rundown horse farm and begin to transform it into what we now know and love as Grateful Woods.
2020
Grateful Woods hosted Marc and Casey’s dream wedding — the perfect backdrop for their most cherished moments surrounded by their closest friends and family.
LATE 2020
What began as a personal project quickly turned into something much larger. Friends and family were so blown away by Grateful Woods that it is opened to guests, inviting them to gather and share the love, make lifelong memories, and feel right at home.
2023
After the wedding, Marc and Casey realize their true passion for hospitality. They expand their vision beyond their own property and begin managing additional rentals, helping others create memorable spaces.
2024
With a handful of properties in their portfolio and increasing interest from friends and guests to help bring magic to more homes, Root & Ramble is officially born.
Today
Root & Ramble continues to grow throughout the Hudson Valley creating beautifully designed, immersive destinations where people can leave their worries at the door and enjoy the escape.
Who We Are
Meet Marc & Casey
Root & Ramble started with a simple dream. Unable to find a wedding venue that embodied the feeling of joy, connection, and true sense of place they were seeking, Marc and Casey Ende purchased an old horse farm and transformed it into Grateful Woods. What started as a personal project quickly grew into a larger passion for hospitality and creating immersive destinations where guests can relax and reconnect. After countless requests from friends, family, and past guests, Marc and Casey founded Root & Ramble to bring some extra magic to homes and estates throughout the Hudson Valley.

Placemaker at heart, Casey, alongside Marc, built Grateful Woods before starting Root & Ramble with their next venue, The Ramble House, coming soon.
